Below is an introduction to our existing squad of players who will feature for East Yorkshire Carnegie F.C. in our NCEL (Northern Counties East League) Division One Campaign in the 2017/18 season commencing in August 2017.
1. LIAM GORDON (GK)
Liam is a very experienced Goalkeeper and one that we are delighted to have on-board with us at East Yorkshire Carnegie, after he agreed to sign for us in our ahead of our new league campaign in the NCEL Division One for our 2017/18 campaign. He has trained very hard in pre-season and Liam is a player we are sure will compliment our squad very well.
2. JONNY RICARDO (DEF)
Jonny needs no real introductions. He is a quality centre back and played for East Yorkshire Carnegie last season and was a main stay player throughout the season and arguably our most consistent player. He is a fans favourite and his efforts on the pitch demonstrate why that is. Jonny is a player with bags of experience and one of his former clubs include Beverley Town, a side he captained for many years before joining Carnegie. He was East Yorkshire Carnegie's Player Of The Season last year and he will be hoping he carrying his form into NCEL season 2017/18.
3. TOM GIBLIN (DEF)
Tom signed for Carnegie last season from Westella having previously played for Hull United. He made a fantastic partnership at Centre back alongside Jonny Ricardo and the two formed one of the best defensive duo's in the Humber Premier League last season. Tom is one of younger players, one who we believe has a bright future in the game. He is big presence and also weighed in with a few goals last season and is a real threat from corners and set pieces. We are delighted Tom is remaining with us for his second season with Carnegie as he now looks to test himself in the higher division (NCEL).
4. JOE ABEL (DEF)
Joe played for us last season and did a sterling job at full back. He is very exciting player who always looks to get forward at every opportunity. He scored what was possibly Carnegie's goal of the season during our last Campaign, as he progressed forward down the left wing and hit a ball into the top corner from all of 35 yards out. We welcome Joe back for his second season with us at Carnegie and we are sure he will easily make the step up the NCEL.
5. TOM READING (DEF)
Tom is another Carnegie player remaining with us into our new season in the NCEL for the 2017/18 season. He played for us last season in the Humber Premier League at full back. Tom is the master of the long throw-ins, which often resulted in many goals for us last season. Tom is a quality player and another who we feel will have no issues making the step up the NCEL.
6. SAM FOSTER (DEF)
Sam is possibly one of our most hard working full backs. He gives 110% every game and has a great engine, which was often recognised by winning several Man Of The Match awards last season. He is strong on the ball and very good in a tackle. We are pleased to have Sam remaining with us for next season in the NCEL.
7. ALBAN BICAKU (DEF)
Alban will play his second season for us when the NCEL campaign kicks off in August 2017. Alban as a youth, played for Victoria Dock Rangers. He then left Victoria Dock to join the Hull United Youth Team set up before progressing through to play in the men's reserve side for Hull United in the Humber Division One league, before forcing his way into Hull United's first team, before deciding to join Carnegie in 2016. Alban says that the owner of Carnegie, Jamie Waltham and the fans at club were factors which helped him make his mind up to join us. He states that he was also excited at the prospect of playing with older, better, more experienced players at Carnegie, which he hopes he can learn from and ultimately improve his own game!
8. MICHAEL O'CONNELL (MID) 'CLUB CAPTAIN'
Micheal O'Connell, also more preferably known as Carny, is East Yorkshire Carnegie's Club Captain. He was a true leader last season in the Humber Premier League and one who all his team mates respect. Carny is a quality midfield player and one of strongest attributes is the ability to switch play. He has a fantastic range of vision, whether playing a long of short ball. He also contributed to score sheet for Carnegie in many games last season, often scoring important match winning goals. Before joining Carnegie, Carny played for Beverley Town since the age of 17, whom he won the Humber Premier League with on two occasions as well as the national and league cup. Carny has already played in the NCEL already for Bridlington Town and Hall Road Rangers. He states he signed for Carnegie because he is good friends with the club Owner, Jamie Waltham and is excited about the plans and ambitions that the club have for the future.
9. MICHAEL CLAXTON (MID)
Michael Claxton, nickname (Clacko) is a central midfield player who played for Carnegie last season. He is a solid, hardworking midfielder with a big engine and never stops running for the full 90 minutes and never gives ther opposition a second on the ball. He is alwayts busy trying to break up play and when on the ball, he is very strong and always looking to drive forward with the ball. We are delighted to have Clacko remain with us for his second season at Dunswell Park with East Yorkshire Carnegie F.C.
